2025 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift: New Engine, Premium Features and Launch Details Revealed

Maruti Suzuki Preparing Big Update for Brezza SUV

Maruti Suzuki Preparing Big Update for Brezza SUV

Maruti Suzuki is reportedly working on a major update for its popular compact SUV, the Brezza. The upcoming 2025 Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift has been spotted several times during road testing in India, hinting at important design and mechanical upgrades. Recent spy shots showing the SUV with emission testing equipment have increased speculation about a possible new engine option.

The Brezza has remained one of the best-selling compact SUVs in the Indian market, and the facelift version is expected to strengthen its position against rivals like Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Skoda Kylaq.

Possible New Engine Options in Brezza Facelift

At present, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. However, reports suggest that the facelift model may introduce smaller and more fuel-efficient engine choices.

The company could offer either:

  • A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine
  • A 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine

Although Maruti Suzuki has not officially confirmed these details, the emission testing setup seen on the test vehicle indicates that powertrain changes are under development.

If the company introduces a turbo petrol engine in the Brezza, it will directly compete with turbo-powered SUVs such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and Kia Sonet. Maruti already offers a turbo petrol engine in the Fronx, making this possibility stronger.

Lower Tax Benefits May Help Reduce Pricing

One of the main reasons behind the smaller engine option could be tax benefits. Under current regulations, vehicles under 4 meters in length with engines below 1.2 litres attract lower GST rates.

Since the current Brezza uses a 1.5-litre engine, it falls into a higher tax category. A smaller engine could help Maruti Suzuki reduce production costs and offer the SUV at a more competitive price.

Reports also suggest that the new Brezza may get a 6-speed manual gearbox, improving driving performance and fuel efficiency.

Interior Upgrades and New Features

The upcoming Brezza Facelift is expected to receive several interior improvements. One of the biggest updates could be a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system replacing the existing 9-inch unit.

The new infotainment setup may be similar to the system used in Maruti Suzuki’s latest premium SUVs. Buyers can also expect updated cabin materials and revised interior color themes for a more modern look.

Other expected features include:

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Connected car technology
  • Automatic climate control
  • Rear AC vents
  • Enhanced safety features

Exterior Design Changes Expected

While the overall shape of the SUV is likely to remain unchanged, Maruti Suzuki is expected to introduce subtle exterior updates to give the Brezza a fresher appearance.

Expected design highlights include:

  • Redesigned front and rear bumpers
  • Updated front grille with a premium finish
  • Revised fog lamp housing
  • Wider silver skid plates
  • New 16-inch alloy wheels

The rear profile may not receive major changes, but small styling tweaks could improve the SUV’s road presence.

CNG Variant Could Offer More Boot Space

Another important update could be the introduction of an underbody-mounted CNG tank. This setup, already seen in some newer Maruti vehicles, helps free up boot space compared to traditional CNG layouts.

This move could make the Brezza CNG variant more practical for family buyers looking for better luggage capacity.

Expected Launch Timeline

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the new Brezza Facelift either during the festive season of 2025 or in early 2026. With updated styling, possible turbo engine options, improved features, and competitive pricing, the SUV is likely to attract strong attention in India’s compact SUV segment.

The new Brezza will continue to face competition from the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and Skoda Kylaq in the rapidly growing SUV market.
