LPG Price Cut: Commercial Gas Cylinder Rates Reduced from June 1 – Check New Prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai

Relief for Commercial Users as Domestic LPG Prices Remain Unchanged

June 1, 2025 | India – In a fresh price revision effective today, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have slashed the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders. The cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been reduced by approximately Rs 24, offering relief to hotels, restaurants, and businesses that rely on cooking gas for daily operations.

However, there has been no change in domestic LPG cylinder prices (14.2 kg), which means households will not see a difference in their monthly kitchen budgets.

🧾 Latest Commercial LPG Cylinder Rates (19 kg) – June 1, 2025

Here’s a city-wise breakdown of the new 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder prices:

  • Delhi: ₹1,723.50

  • Mumbai: ₹1,674.50

  • Kolkata: ₹1,826.00

  • Chennai: ₹1,881.00

The rate cut comes as part of the monthly fuel price adjustment based on international benchmark prices and the Indian rupee’s performance against the US dollar.

🔁 Price Revision in May 2025

This reduction follows last month’s minor cut, where prices were brought down by around Rs 17 per cylinder. The back-to-back rate cuts offer consistent support to commercial users impacted by rising input costs over the past year.

The adjustment in June reflects a continued softening of global LPG rates, which OMCs like Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL) factor in during their monthly price reviews.

🏠 Domestic LPG Prices Remain Steady

Despite the commercial LPG price cut, the non-subsidized domestic LPG cylinder (14.2 kg) remains unchanged across metro cities. Below are the current domestic LPG rates:

  • Delhi: ₹853.00

  • Mumbai: ₹852.50

  • Kolkata: ₹879.00

  • Chennai: ₹868.50

Households using LPG for cooking will continue to pay these existing rates as of June 1.

🏭 Impact on Businesses and Economy

The reduction in commercial cylinder prices is expected to ease operating costs for sectors such as food services, hospitality, and small-scale industries. With fuel forming a major part of input expenses for these businesses, even a small cut can offer much-needed relief in today’s competitive environment.

Experts believe regular adjustments and transparency in pricing help maintain balance between market conditions and consumer affordability.

⚙️ How Are LPG Prices Determined?

OMCs revise LPG and Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices on the 1st of every month. These changes are based on:

  • International benchmark prices for crude oil and LPG

  • Exchange rate fluctuations

  • Transportation and distribution costs

This dynamic pricing mechanism ensures that Indian fuel rates reflect global market trends while managing domestic supply-demand efficiently.

📝 Final Words

While residential users continue to pay the same for cooking gas, commercial establishments will benefit from a modest price cut in June. With hopes of further global fuel stabilization, stakeholders from various sectors are watching closely for next month’s pricing decisions.
