Iconic Pulsar 180 Makes a Comeback

Bajaj Auto has officially relaunched the iconic Bajaj Pulsar 180 in the Indian market. The bike was discontinued in 2022, leaving a noticeable gap between the Pulsar 150 and Pulsar 220F models.

Now, Bajaj has brought back the Pulsar 180 with updated features, aiming to fill that gap and attract riders looking for a balanced mix of performance and affordability.

Price and Availability in India

The new Bajaj Pulsar 180 is priced at ₹1.22 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available in five color options:

  • Black-Gold
  • Blue-Black
  • Black-Grey
  • Black-Red
  • White

The bike is around ₹12,000 more expensive than the Pulsar 150, but about ₹4,000 cheaper than its closest rival, the TVS Apache RTR 180.

Engine and Performance Details

The Pulsar 180 continues to use a 178.6cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, delivering:

  • 17 HP power
  • 15 Nm torque
  • 5-speed gearbox

Compared to the older model discontinued in 2022, the new version offers slightly higher torque (by 0.8 Nm), while the power output remains the same.

When compared to the Pulsar 150:

  • It produces 3 HP more power
  • Offers 1.75 Nm higher torque

This makes it a stronger option for riders seeking better performance without moving to higher-capacity bikes.

Updated Features and Design

The relaunched Pulsar 180 now comes with modern updates, bringing it in line with the latest Pulsar lineup. Key features include:

LED Headlamp

The bike gets a new LED headlamp, improving visibility and giving it a sharper look.

LCD Instrument Cluster

It features a digital LCD display, offering better readability and updated information for riders.

Safety Features

  • Rear disc brake
  • Single-channel ABS

These additions enhance braking performance and rider safety.

Suspension, Wheels, and Dimensions

The Pulsar 180 is equipped with:

  • Telescopic front forks
  • Twin rear shock absorbers

Other specifications include:

  • Fuel tank capacity: 15 liters
  • Weight: 156 kg
  • Ground clearance: 165 mm
  • Wheel size: 17-inch
  • Tyres: Tubeless (90/120 section)

These specs make the bike suitable for both city commuting and occasional highway rides.

Why the Relaunch Matters

When Bajaj discontinued the Pulsar 180 in 2022, it created a gap in the lineup. Buyers had to choose between the entry-level Pulsar 150 and the more powerful Pulsar 220F.

With the return of the Pulsar 180:

  • The lineup becomes more complete
  • Buyers get a mid-range performance option
  • It strengthens competition in the 180cc segment

Final Thoughts

The return of the Bajaj Pulsar 180 is great news for fans of the Pulsar series. With updated features, competitive pricing, and reliable performance, the bike is expected to regain its popularity in the Indian market.

For riders looking for a balance between power, affordability, and everyday usability, the new Pulsar 180 stands out as a strong contender in its segment.
