Magisterial Inquiry Underway into the Police Encounter of Hathras History-Sheeter Jeetu

Mainpuri, June 11 – The investigation into the encounter of notorious history-sheeter Jitendra alias Jeetu from Hathras continues, with key developments taking place on Tuesday. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Elao, Avnish Tyagi, appeared before SDM Sandhya Sharma and gave a detailed statement about the April 29 encounter in which Jeetu was killed.


Jeetu Encounter: SHO Shares Full Account

The SDM is conducting a magisterial inquiry into the encounter, as per legal protocol. SHO Avnish Tyagi appeared before the SDM and presented evidence and a complete account of the events that unfolded during the joint police and Special Task Force (STF) operation that led to Jeetu’s death in the Elao area of Bhogaon.

According to officials, multiple serious cases were registered against Jeetu in Hathras, and he was considered a dangerous criminal.


Doctors Fail to Appear for Statement

While the SHO fulfilled his responsibility, two doctorsDr. Neeraj Kumar and Dr. VK Shukla, who were part of the post-mortem panel – did not appear to record their statements before the SDM. Their testimonies are considered vital for the investigation.

SDM Sandhya Sharma confirmed that correspondence has been sent to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to ensure the doctors appear soon. Their statements are expected to be recorded in the coming days.


Inquiry Continues

SDM Sharma added that the statements of all officers involved in the encounter are being recorded in sequence. Additional details and documents related to the case are also being collected for the final report.
