Volkswagen India has officially launched the updated Taigun in the country, bringing a major facelift to its popular compact SUV. The new Taigun comes with over 40 safety and convenience features, updated styling, and a new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0 TSI engine. With these upgrades, Volkswagen aims to strengthen Taigun’s position in the mid-size SUV segment, competing with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Tata Sierra.

Fresh Exterior Design

The facelifted Taigun retains its base structure, but the exterior has been modernized for a more premium and sporty look. Inspired by the Tayron R-Line, the SUV now features an illuminated VW logo, new LED headlamps, and a connected light bar at the front. The grille has been slimmed down, and the bumper now sports horizontal slats with chrome touches.

The GT variant gets a blacked-out theme for the grille, alloy wheels, and exterior trims. Overall, the SUV is offered in nine color options, including Avocado Pearl, Steel Grey, Candy White, Deep Black, Wild Cherry Red, Lava Blue, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel, and Carbon Steel Matte.

At the rear, Taigun features an illuminated logo, new LED tail lamps, sequential turn indicators, and an updated bumper for a modern look. The 17-inch alloy wheels now sport a glossy black finish.

Premium Interior

Inside, the cabin retains its familiar layout but has been upgraded with new two-tone finishes and six upholstery options. The SUV now offers a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an updated 10.1-inch infotainment system with AI-based features, smoother software, and new graphics for real-time information and improved voice controls.

Other highlights include ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and an upgraded AC system for better cooling.

Engine and Performance

The Taigun facelift comes with two turbo-petrol engines:

Volkswagen claims a 5.8% improvement in mileage for the 1.0 TSI engine. The SUV comes with a 4-year/1 lakh km warranty, 4-year roadside assistance, and 3 free labor services.
