UP to Get Flyovers, Bypasses, and Modern Roads to Curb Traffic Congestion
In a major push towards improving infrastructure and easing traffic congestion, the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh has announced 62 new road development projects across the state. These include the construction of flyovers, bypasses, and upgraded road networks aimed at ensuring smoother travel and reducing bottlenecks in urban and semi-urban areas.
According to officials, the state government is focusing on high-traffic zones and rapidly growing urban centers where congestion has become a major issue for daily commuters and transport services.
Key Features of the Project:
1. Focus on Urban Mobility:
The new projects aim to decongest traffic in major cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, and Ghaziabad by building modern flyovers and bypass routes.
2. Infrastructure Boost in Tier-2 Cities:
Smaller cities such as Bareilly, Gorakhpur, and Aligarh will also benefit from new road links, improving connectivity and supporting regional development.
3. Faster Commutes, Better Safety:
The upgraded roads and bypasses are expected to reduce travel time significantly and improve road safety by minimizing accidents caused by congested routes.
4. Economic Upliftment:
Improved road infrastructure will boost local economies, enhance trade routes, and attract new investments, especially in industrial and logistics sectors.
5. Green and Sustainable Development:
Some projects will incorporate eco-friendly designs, including dedicated lanes for electric vehicles and smart traffic management systems to reduce carbon emissions.
A senior official from the Public Works Department (PWD) stated that the planning and tendering processes are already underway, and construction will begin in phases over the coming months.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized, “Our goal is to make Uttar Pradesh a model state for infrastructure. With better roads and reduced traffic, we aim to improve the quality of life for our citizens.”
